About
Barbara Brown brings over two decades of senior level search work across many sectors to BSBSearch projects.
Barbara demonstrates in all her search projects a passion for the work of the nonprofit community and her clients, and a commitment to public service that has been a constant in both her career and in her own board and volunteer work. In addition to her BSBSearch experiences, Barbara’s background includes extensive work at large and medium-sized executive recruiting firms, including AT Kearney International, where her practice included not-for-profit and foundation searches.
Some of the recent searches Barbara has completed include organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League, Research to Prevent Blindness, Connecticut Veterans Legal Center, the Center for Arts Education, the Central Park Conservancy, the Flathead Beacon and others. Projects at these institutions and others include successful searches for Executive Directors, senior level development, financial and program positions.
Barbara’s career includes work in education, government service as a congressional staff member and as an innovator in developing professional services marketing programs. That background complements Barbara’s efforts as an award-winning community activist, a set of experiences that includes service on nonprofit Boards, chairing committees and developing programs benefitting her local communities in Larchmont, NY, Mercer Island, WA and New York City. Barbara is former recent member of the Board of Directors of Center for Family Representation, a nonprofit organization providing legal and social services to families navigating the family court system, keeping families together.
